AI one of the hot topics of the CES Tech 2021 edition. AI to “fuel” a lot of these transformations. Another fuel on top of data, an important combination to manage…
AI is often tied up to 5G and Smart City and all futuristic still potential applications. Is AI still in its infancy? or has already transformed our world? The truth is that AI is a way to improve predictions and outcomes, automation and optimization (costs, customer experience).
AI is a reality in expediting clinical trials’ analysis and results, personalized education (EdTech), and keeping us as well entertained (what’s the next movie to see).
Harnessing the vast amount of data, and with the support of advanced software and big leapfrog in computing power, these three enablers will enable us to build more powerful AI applications.
With Deep Learning, AI should think like Humans…unstructured data from structured data to ease and deepen the conversations.
“A growing number of problems are been solved by AI but not all problems should be solved by AI”: I liked that quote. We should step back on how to best use AI and where the benefits should be maximized.
On using AI and related Ethics, it is also very important to consider the challenges that are still around: how data and related sources are trusted and secured, this is paramount to build the real foundations.
Swiss Startups are very well represented in this 2021 edition https://www.startupticker.ch/en/news/january-2021/swiss-startups-unveil-new-solutions-at-ces2021. Typewise, a keyboard specifically designed for smartphones thanks to its patented honeycomb interface, and with 100% guaranteed privacy, is revolutionizing the autocorrection technology (patent pending) with the new Typewise 3.0 (available in early February). It also won the CES 2021 Innovation Award Honoree.
We need to learn to make the most of our relationship with AI and it is a “mutual learning process”. MIT Sloan Review and BCG research highlighted that 59% of companies have now some AI strategy but only 11% report significant financial benefits with AI. So the recipe is about how to make the machines and humans work together and get better together by building the organizational foundations, hiring the right talent, and a supportive AI strategy to drive real business value. Then it is about building feedback loops, and mutual learning, and organizational learning with AI (which will enable the “11%” benefits, mentioned by the research here above).
Organizations that will put more modes of learning and human-AI interactions will achieve more with AI. Enjoy your AI journey!
